Service 03 — Paint Correction Measured, not guessed
Correction under calibrated light

Remove the haze.

Multi-stage machine refinement that removes swirls, holograms and etching to restore true optical clarity — no fillers, no glaze, only corrected clear coat.

(01) — The Craft

Correction removes defects. Everything else merely hides them until the next wash.

Most "polishes" fill scratches with wax and glaze — they wash away within weeks. True correction levels a microscopic amount of clear coat to remove the defect permanently, then refines the surface back to a flawless finish.

We read paint depth with a gauge before we start and work under 3,000-lux inspection lighting throughout. Every panel is measured, corrected and jewelled by hand — nothing is left to chance or to guesswork.

(02) — The Levels

Three levels.
Matched to the paint.

01

Gloss Enhancement

A single-stage polish that removes light swirls and lifts gloss — ideal ahead of a coating on a newer or well-kept car.

~60% DEFECTS
02

Two-Stage Correction

Compound then refine — removing the majority of swirls, holograms and wash marring for a deep, clean finish.

~85% DEFECTS
03

Concours Correction

Multi-stage refinement and hand jewelling to the highest achievable clarity — for shows, collections and photography.

FULL-BLEED — mirror reflection in corrected paint
(03) — The Result

Reflections that resolve to a mirror.

When the haze is gone, colour gains depth and edges sharpen. The paint stops scattering light and starts returning it — the way the designer intended.

(04) — Correct First

Why it comes
before coating.

A

A coating locks in what's underneath

Ceramic seals the surface exactly as it is. Correct the swirls first, and you're protecting a flawless finish — skip it, and you're preserving the defects for years.

B

Depth comes from correction, not product

The "wet look" people chase is corrected clear coat reflecting cleanly. No coating or wax can add clarity the paint itself doesn't have.

C

It protects resale value

A properly corrected, documented finish photographs beautifully and reassures buyers — it's one of the highest-return things you can do for a car.

Black paint that was a mess of swirls now looks liquid. They showed me the paint gauge readings before and after — total transparency. Astonishing work.

They talked me out of a full correction I didn't need and did a gloss enhancement before coating instead. Honest, skilled, and the finish is unreal.

Concours correction ahead of a show and we placed first in class. The judges commented on the finish specifically. Cannot recommend LUSTRA enough.

(06) — Questions

Before you
book.

Send photos in daylight and we'll tell you honestly what your paint needs.

What's the difference between correction and a polish?

+

A "polish" at most shops fills defects with glaze that washes away. Correction permanently levels a microscopic layer of clear coat to remove the defect itself, then refines the surface — the result is real and it lasts.

Is it safe for my clear coat?

+

Yes. We measure paint depth before and during the process with a calibrated gauge and only ever remove a tiny, safe amount of clear coat. We'll never chase a defect that would compromise the paint.

Can every scratch be removed?

+

Swirls, holograms and most wash marring — yes. Deeper scratches that have broken through the clear coat can be dramatically improved but not always fully erased. We'll tell you exactly what to expect at consultation.

How long does correction take?

+

A gloss enhancement is typically one day; two-stage correction one to two days; concours-level work can run several days. Correction is often paired with a coating, which adds curing time.

Will the swirls come back?

+

Not from the correction itself — but new swirls come from poor washing. We recommend protecting the finish with a coating and teach you a safe wash method so the result stays flawless.
